I've done a stint under a French chef in the Dordogne, had a life-long apprenticeship under my Indian mother in Kilburn and been paid to cook for food-loving Catholic monks in Belsize Park. I love cooking! I regularly talk about food in a way that makes my friends sigh and strangers raise their eyebrows!
